Independent restaurants deserve the easy ordering guests expect from a large chain, without the cost and complexity of enterprise restaurant software — so we built a platform for them. It runs today at Fusion Feast Bistro, a café and bistro in Malkapur, Maharashtra, where guests scan a QR code at their table, browse a live menu and order in seconds, and the team runs the menu, promotions and sales from one dashboard.
The challenge
Independent restaurants sit in an awkward gap: too small for enterprise point-of-sale contracts, but too busy to get by with a simple website. The day-to-day problems are familiar:
- Menu changes need a developer. On a typical restaurant website, every new price or sold-out dish means waiting for a technical update, so the website and the printed menu quickly fall out of step.
- Orders wait for staff. At the busiest times, taking orders becomes the bottleneck and tables turn over more slowly.
- Little insight into what sells. Bestsellers are a matter of gut feeling, and the day's takings are added up by hand at closing time.
- Promotions are hard to run. Discount codes are informal, applied inconsistently and impossible to measure.
Our approach
We designed for two audiences. Guests should be able to order without friction: no app to install and no account required. The restaurant team should be able to run everything themselves, without ever calling a developer. And because a system that takes orders and sets prices has to be trustworthy, we built it secure and dependable from the ground up rather than adding protection later.
The solution
Order from the table
Guests scan the QR code at their table, browse the full menu with photos and options, and place their order. There is no app to download and no waiting to catch someone's eye. Guests can order in seconds without an account, or sign in with Google or their phone number to keep their order history.
A menu the team controls
Dishes, prices, photos and availability are updated from the dashboard and reach every guest's phone within minutes. Sold out for the night? It takes one tap.
Promotions with guardrails
The team can create percentage or fixed-amount discount codes with minimum spends and maximum savings, then launch or retire them the same afternoon.
Sales at a glance
A clear dashboard shows revenue, order volume and average order value for any period, with bestsellers ranked automatically.
Reviews and enquiries
Guests can leave reviews and send enquiries straight from the website, and every submission is checked before it is saved.
Secure and built to scale
Every order total is calculated and checked by the system, never by the guest's phone, and automated abuse is blocked before it reaches the restaurant. The platform is designed so that a busy Saturday night costs about the same to run as a quiet Tuesday afternoon.
The results
At Fusion Feast Bistro, the platform has changed how the restaurant runs day to day:
- One menu, always up to date. Changing a price is an everyday task for the team rather than a job for a developer, and the website no longer drifts from the printed menu.
- Faster service at peak times. Guests order from their table, freeing staff to focus on food and hospitality when the restaurant is busiest.
- Decisions based on data. Bestsellers are measured rather than guessed, and daily takings add themselves up as the day goes on.
- Promotions on demand. Discount campaigns can be launched, capped and retired in a single afternoon.
- Ready to grow. More guests don't mean a matching jump in running costs.
Why it matters
Good technology shouldn't be reserved for restaurant chains. We built this platform with the same engineering discipline we bring to enterprise systems — sized and priced for businesses that measure their scale in tables, not regions.
