uniFurnitureOS privacy policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains how the uniFurnitureOS app for Android handles data: what it stores, where it goes and how you can see or delete it.
In short: your shop’s records stay on your phone and, if you turn on backup, in your own Google Drive. We never receive them, so we cannot see, sell or share them. The app has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and you don’t need an account with us.
01. Who we are
uniFurnitureOS is published by Unitary Tech Global OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registry code 16976051), at Harju maakond, Tallinn, Kesklinna linnaosa, Ahtri tn 12, 15551 Estonia.
We are the controller for the little personal data we receive about you, described under “What we receive”. We never receive your shop’s records: those are yours.
Email contact [at] unitarytech.com with any question about this policy, to use your rights or to raise a grievance. Please put “uniFurnitureOS privacy” in the subject line.
02. What the app stores on your phone
uniFurnitureOS stores what you enter to run your shop:
- Your business: shop name, owner’s name, phone numbers, email, address, GSTIN, logo and signature, and the bank account and UPI ID printed on your bills.
- Your customers: names, phone numbers, email and postal addresses, GSTINs and your notes about them.
- Your suppliers and drivers: names, contact people, phone numbers, email and postal addresses, GSTINs, and drivers’ vehicle and driving licence numbers.
- Your work: products, raw materials, quotations, orders, invoices, payments, karigars’ names, and deliveries with the name of the person who received them.
- Photos and signatures: the photos you add of products, designs and delivered orders, and signatures drawn on the phone at delivery.
- App details: your settings, your plan and trial dates, the email address of the Google account you back up to, and your phone’s name, which labels your backups.
All of this is kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps on your phone cannot read. None of it is sent to us.
You decide what you record about your customers and why, so you are responsible for their data towards them: under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you are its data fiduciary, and we do not process it. If you are a customer of a shop that uses uniFurnitureOS, ask the shop to see, correct or delete your details. We don’t have them.
03. Google Drive backup (optional)
When you turn on backup, you choose a Google account and allow uniFurnitureOS to keep files in its Google Drive. The app then:
- uploads a copy of its records and your photos to a “uniFurnitureOS Backup” folder in that Drive: daily or weekly as you choose, and whenever you tap Back up now;
- labels each backup with your shop’s name, your phone’s name, the date and the number of customers and orders, so that you can pick the right one when you restore;
- keeps the 10 newest copies of your shop’s records and deletes older ones. Each photo is uploaded once and stays in the folder, so that every copy can be restored with its photos;
- reads the email address of that Google account, to show you where your backups go.
The app asks Google only for the limited drive.file access: it can see and change only the files it created, and nothing else in your Drive. Backups go straight from your phone to Google over an encrypted connection and are kept in your Google account under Google’s privacy policy. Google may store them in data centres in India or other countries. We have no access to them.
uniFurnitureOS’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can stop backing up at any time in Backup & restore. To remove the backups, delete the “uniFurnitureOS Backup” folder in Google Drive. To take away the app’s access, remove uniFurnitureOS under Third-party apps & services in your Google Account.
04. Backup files
In Backup & restore you can also save a backup file (a .zip) wherever you choose, or send it with another app. The file holds all your records and photos and is not protected by a password, so keep it somewhere safe and share it only with people you trust. To restore from a file, you pick it in Android’s file picker, which gives the app only that file.
05. Android’s own backup
If backup is turned on in your phone’s settings, Android includes uniFurnitureOS’s records and settings (not the photos) in your phone’s backup to your Google account. When you copy apps and data from an old phone to a new one, Android can copy the photos too. These backups are encrypted, and you control them in your phone’s settings.
06. Subscriptions
Plans are bought through Google Play, and Google handles the payment: uniFurnitureOS never sees your card, bank or UPI details. The app asks Google Play on your phone which plan your Google account has, and keeps a note of it on the phone. Your purchase is covered by Google’s privacy policy. The order details Google Play gives us are described under “What we receive”.
07. Phone features the app uses
- Internet: only for Google Drive backup and Google Play. Everything else works offline.
- Fingerprint, face or screen lock, if you turn on the app lock: Android checks it and tells the app only whether it succeeded. Your fingerprint and face data never leave your phone’s secure hardware.
- Contacts: when you pick a customer from your contacts, Android’s contact picker gives the app only the contact you choose. uniFurnitureOS cannot read your contact list.
- Camera and photos: photos are taken with your camera app or chosen in Android’s photo picker, and the app receives only the photos you take or choose.
- Background work: the app asks Android to run its backup in the background, also after the phone restarts.
- Phone name: the app reads your phone’s name, such as “Pixel 8” or a name you gave it, to label your backups.
08. Sharing
uniFurnitureOS shares something only when you tap Share, Print, WhatsApp, Call, Email or Map, and only with the app or person you choose: for example, a quotation PDF sent to a customer on WhatsApp, or a delivery address and map link sent to a driver. What happens to it next is up to that app and that person.
09. What we receive
We receive personal data about you only in the cases below, and we don’t use it for automated decisions or profiling.
- Order details from Google Play. When you subscribe, Google Play gives us the order details we need to manage subscriptions, refunds and our accounts, such as the order number, plan, price, date and country. It also lets us find an order by the email address of the Google account that paid, for example when you ask us about a payment. Legal basis: our contract with you, and our legal duty to keep accounting records (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(c)).
- Messages you send us. Your email address, what you write and anything you attach, so that we can answer you and follow up. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take under our contract (Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
- Crash reports. If you allow your phone to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google Play may show us reports of crashes and freezes in the app. They contain technical details, such as the phone model, the Android version and where in the app the problem happened, and don’t identify you. We use them to fix problems (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)).
We share this data only with authorities and advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, when the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
Order details and crash reports are held in Google Play Console, and our email runs on Google Workspace, so Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which covers these transfers.
10. What we don’t do
- We don’t run servers for the app, and we don’t receive your shop’s records.
- We don’t sell or share your data.
- The app has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking or crash-reporting tools.
- The app doesn’t ask for or use your location, and doesn’t track you across other apps or websites.
11. Security
- Your records are kept in the app’s private storage, which Android protects from other apps.
- Connections to Google Drive and Google Play are encrypted.
- The app’s access to your Google Drive is limited to the files it created.
- The optional app lock (in More) asks for your fingerprint, face or screen lock when uniFurnitureOS opens, and again when you come back to it after a couple of minutes.
- Backup files are not encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.
- At Unitary Tech, only the people who need order details or your messages to do their work can see them.
Your records are only as safe as your phone. Use a screen lock, and keep backup turned on so that a lost or broken phone doesn’t mean lost records.
12. How long data is kept and how to delete it
- On your phone: until you delete it in the app. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android’s settings, removes everything from the phone.
- In Google Drive: the 10 newest copies of your records and every photo backed up, until you delete the “uniFurnitureOS Backup” folder. Stopping backup does not delete them.
- In Android’s own backup: as set in your phone and your Google account.
- Backup files: wherever you saved or sent them, until you delete them there.
- Messages you send us: two years after our last contact with you.
- Order details from Google Play: as long as accounting and tax laws require us to keep them.
To delete everything: uninstall the app, delete the “uniFurnitureOS Backup” folder in Google Drive (Drive empties its bin after 30 days), and remove uniFurnitureOS from the third-party apps in your Google Account.
13. Your rights
Your records stay with you: you can see, correct and delete them in the app at any time, and take a copy as a backup file or as spreadsheets (CSV) from Reports.
For the personal data we receive about you, you have the right to:
- get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have it deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format.
If you are in India, you also have the rights the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you, including nominating someone to use your rights if you die or become unable to.
To use any of these rights, email contact [at] unitarytech.com. We’ll reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) at aki.ee, or to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work. In India, if we haven’t resolved your grievance, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
14. Children
uniFurnitureOS is a business app and is not meant for children.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how the app handles your data, we will also say so in the release notes of the app update that brings it.
